I’ve been losing some poundage lately, while continuing to avoid the gym.
Want to know the secret?
DON’T EAT AS MUCH.
*available for consultations*
I hate the gym, too, but I continue to go on the regular - because when it all comes down to it, I love eating more than I hate the gym.
Exactly.
My life story. Though this week, I’ve...

Yesterday I said I had cabin fever, which I still do.
But I am grateful for my cabin fever because it means I am in an enclosed place with a roof over my head. And it’s frigid, wet, miserable and snowy outside.
I’m sure there are people who would kill to be in my situation, going stir crazy because they’ve been cozied up on the couch for three days.
I had a great day.
Sure, my brain might be fried from staring at my computer all day. (Still am, obvi, but not with as much intensity as earlier.)
But alas, a great, great day.
Am I not supposed to be eating peanut butter?
sarahchristine:
The salmonella outbreak occured in my awesome state (sorry y’all) and I know all about it, yet I did not think twice when I bought my reduced fat creamy Jif this morning.
I ate peanuts last night. They just looked so good. And I’m feeling fine so far.
Good Morning

For those of you who chose to use that as your headline and completely missed the real message I was trying to send, you have failed as a reporter and as a woman.
See, that’s funny, because I think when you call other women failures as women, and when you spend your days hocking what is well-documented as bad and often harmful science to women, and...
Someone's losing their credibility ...
Wait. Whooooaaa. Wait a tick. Did she ever have credibility?
I'm embarrassed to admit this.
I watch Bad Girls Club. But only because I find it so refreshing that I am not, and never will be, a trashy girl.
Anyway, for anyone who watched tonight … what the fuck is up with the old dude Aliah (sp?) is dating? Not only does he sport Tommy Bahama shirts, but he also has what I fondly refer to as ‘red face’.
I mean, I have absolutely nothing against dating older people,...
cabin fever
smartblonde:
I HAVE IT
Too bad I do, too.
Pro to being snowed in: Leaving work early. Con to being snowed in: Cabin fever.
For dinner tonight???
Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
A classic comfort on a cold, snowed-in winter’s night.

I have some serious shit to say about what happened on Tumblr today, people.
(And I’ll be doing variations on this forever.)
What did I miss?!?
Mysterious Wedding Emails
I went to a wedding show three weeks ago, and booths I definitely didn’t stop by are sending me emails saying, “We still have your date open!”
At first I was utterly confused.
Then I realized, I gave them my email address when I registered.
I’m a modern day Nancy Drew, folks.
Half Marathon Training
smellkid:
Today marks the first week of half marathon training for mid-April. Of course this is one of the colder weeks St. Louis has had all winter. Tonight I got to stay inside and do stretches and a little strengthening but tomorrow, when we’re due to have snow and ice, I have to run. I’m not running on a treadmill either. Fuck it.
One might suggest that I just wait a week and start next...
I asked to be busy at work ..
and now my adrenaline is kicking in. Blood pressure is surely rising.
It’s not the java that’s doing it - it’s my love for the pressure.
Am I weird that I love my job and being stressed? Or does that qualify me as the average working American?
The Duggar wedding is the weirdest freaking thing...
heidelweiss:
-they saved their first kiss for the day of the wedding -the mom has not cut her hair in probably over 20 years -the groom decided to sing to the bride -no dancing or drinking at the wedding
“They’re like rushing off to go do it now”- thank you Katie (who made me watch with her via phone)
Totally wanted to watch this. I’ll just have to catch the repeat.

AHHH! This happened to me, too! I thought it was some sort of virus, but I guess it's not. At least on our end. But that seems to be a huge glitch on their part.
[background: after returning from lunch, I, along with other Journalism school alums got a flood of emails in our inboxes. Apparently, we've been put on some sort of mass email list. This convo is with my friend, a j-school alum who recieved the emails too]
-----------------
Mkenz: seriously, are you getting all these emails from random people?
me: yes! it's sooo annoying
Mkenz: i know. ah yes... just got five more
me: everyone needs to stop replying!
Mkenz: i know. don't they get it? it's funny to listen to j-school kids get mad.
me: i like the girl that wrote "cease using my email"
Mkenz: i know. haha i laughed
me: oh no we're getting another batch.
Mkenz: the best one was the first email i got about some guy going on sabatical at Harvard haha i was like "ok terd you don't have to tell the whole world how smart you are"
me: or the email that said "Please end your connection to my email immediately" or the lady that wrote, "i hope it's not a virus."
NO it's you dumba**. Replying to the email along with everyone else from the J-school
Mkenz: so funny
me: its not a virus!!! ha ha. that's what she said.

I think my hangover may have left the building.
Still have a raging headache, but at least I can actually have a conversation with someone now. Though it is just through email and Gtalk.
Then again, that’s not really different from any other day. (Sans the hangover)

I am now watching videos about the plane crash, and am crying my eyes out.
I just cannot believe what a miracle it is that everyone survived.
My Boss Just Texted Me
butnotmine:
That he was suppose to be on that downed flight, but got put on another. And then tells me to call his mom as his plane was taking off and he didn’t have time to call her. So, um, if you know my boss’ mom’s # and you happen to be reading this, could you send it to me?
Freaky. But no, I don’t know your boss’ mom’s number.
NBC 4 update
